Minister Shivram Hebbar sugar factory worker dies after being hit by machinery
An incident has taken place in a sugar factory owned by Labor Minister Shivram Hebbar where a laborer got caught in a machine and died.
The laborer has been identified as Navina Basappa Chalawadi (19) of Dundhasi village. The accident occurred while filling sugarcane powder in the factory.
This is a sugar factory owned by Viveka Hebbar at Konankeri in Shiggamvi taluk of the district. It is said that Naveen, a laborer, died of severe bleeding after his two hands got caught in the belt of the sugarcane filling machine.
No safety measures in the factory In the VIPN distillery factory in Konankeri, without any safety measures, sugarcane powder was being filled from baskets by unskilled workers near the belt of huge machines. It has been alleged that the mishap took place because there was no net or safety measures at the place.
Currently, a case has been registered against six people including the factory owner in Bankapur police station regarding the incident.
